Logistics is vital to society and in view of the South African lockdown during the COVID-19 outbreak, it is now even more important to support the continuous operation of this essential part of the economy.

According to Filip Van den Heede, managing director of UD Trucks Southern Africa, the company will go the extra mile to support transport operators who continue to deliver essential services as gazetted by Government. (Amendment of regulations, issued in terms of section 27 (2), 25 March 2020)

“Our nationwide dealer network will remain operational wherever legally possible,” said Van den Heede. “Fleet owners who will continue to conduct operations to transport essential goods and services such as food, fuel, health-related products and do waste collection, can therefore rely on the UD network with our services and parts. Our 24 hour Roadside Assist, which may be reached on 0800 008 800, will continue to support in the event of our essential services customers breaking down.”

“UD Trucks is monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak closely and we remain committed to keeping our essential service customer’s vehicles on the road, although this is subject to change, should Government amend any of these parameters at any time,” said Van den Heede.
