Ammann’s growing presence in North America will be reflected in its product displays at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020.

Those products include the company’s recently launched continuous asphalt-mixing plant with outstanding RAP utilization technology; the latest generation of heavy compactors; and a wide range of light compaction equipment.

Ammann will be in the Silver Lot, Booth S5254, at the Las Vegas trade show, slated for March 10-14.

“This past year we’ve opened a new facility in Davie, Florida, to be closer to American customers,” said Gilvan Pereira, Managing Director of Ammann America. The 70,000-square-foot facility houses staff, a warehouse, a training center and an outdoor area for asphalt plants and compactors.

“We’ve also added depth to our product line, which we are eager to showcase at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020,” Pereira said.

Advanced Recycling Plant

Ammann in October unveiled the ACP 300 ContiHRT, a continuous asphalt-mixing plant designed to meet the needs of the North American market.

The ContiHRT is capable of producing high-quality mix with more than 60% recycled asphalt (RAP). A patented preheating process gently warms RAP and prevents bitumen oxidation. That process also minimizes fuel burn and dramatically reduces the levels of CO2 and other pollutants.

“We come with proven technology that is able to offer the highest amount of RAP utilization in the U.S. market today,” said Lieven Van Broekhoven, Executive Vice President at Ammann. “The plant also addresses the emissions concerns faced by so many in the North American market.”

Additional plant innovations include the proprietary as1 Control System. This advanced system is intuitive to operate yet provides data – and ultimately efficiencies – that enable high production while maximizing the use of fuel and aggregates.

Heavy Compaction Equipment

Ammann offers a complete range of heavy compaction machines, including soil compactors, tandem rollers and pneumatic-tired rollers.

Shown at the booth will be the ARS 70 and ARS 110, the most recent generation of soil compactors. The machines feature technological solutions that are more productive, meet the latest emissions standards, reduce fuel usage and provide valuable data that actually eliminates unnecessary passes of the machines on jobsites.

The rollers are extremely compact and maneuverable because of the improved turning radiuses and the innovative no-rear-axle concept, which efficiently positions the engine, coolers, liquid tanks and hydraulic components in the engine compartment.

The proprietary ACEforce Intelligent Compaction system measures absolute compaction and improves efficiency and quality. Optional documentation is available as well.

Also on display will be the new line of light tandem rollers – the ARX 16-2, the ARX 26-2 and the ARX 45-2. Their weights range from 1 ton to 4.5 tons. The machines feature an electronic drive lever that provides advanced control and maneuverability.

The ARX compactors utilize an upgraded articulation joint that enables quick drum adjustment from in-line to off-set configurations, helpful when working close to obstructions. Also available are combination versions, which utilise a drum in front and pneumatic tires in the rear.

Ammann will present its “Lightweight Champions” – light compaction machines that pack a powerful punch.

Lightweight Equipment

Ammann will present its “Lightweight Champions” – light compaction machines that pack a powerful punch.

Rammers feature the best forward movement in the industry, helping contractors in all applications work productively and ultimately achieve compaction targets. Their well-balanced forward-moving ability makes them the tool of choice for contractors and rental agencies.

Ammann offers a wide range of vibratory plate compactors that are ready for any situation. A low-vibration guide handle minimizes stress on the operator and makes the machine easier to control. Common to all machines is outstanding compaction power. The largest machines – the APH line of hydrostatic compactors – feature Ammann’s proprietary triple-shaft exciter system, which eliminates jumping and enables exceptional climbing ability.

Walk-Behind Rollers combine two applications in a single machine. The operator chooses whether to utilize a high-amplitude setting for work on gravel/soil or a low-amplitude setting for asphalt and bituminous materials.

Ammann is the only manufacturer that continues to offer both articulated and skid-steered versions of their trench rollers. These machines perform well in cohesive soil types, such as clays, that can be very difficult to compact.

Ammann APA Add-On Compactors are attachment plates that can be mounted on any standard excavator arm and are true champions in terms of compaction forces and compaction speed. The APA products compact at depths up to 3 ft 3 in (1 meter) and work safely on steep slopes or dangerous trenches.

Customer Care

After-sales efforts will be well represented at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Among the service products showcased is Amdurit®, Ammann’s patented wear-protection system for asphalt-mixing plants. Amdurit provides up to three times the service life of wear-resistant steel and protects valuable parts and components.

Ammlub is a labor-saving, smart system that automatically lubricates key points on the asphalt plant. Technicians no longer need to access locations that make maintenance difficult, time-consuming and costly. Ammlub also ensures that lubricating is done on time – every time.

A new generation of quick-exchange mixer arms, built for easy, cost-effective replacement, will be introduced at the show.

Visitors will also be able learn more about the 5-star service packages for an asphalt-mixing plant’s burner and electrical systems. Maintenance packages are available as well.

Ammann’s mixed reality solution, the ultimate remote support tool, will be of interest to many booth visitors. The customer need only put on a virtual reality device and safety helmet, and the Ammann support team will have a live view of what he is seeing. The Ammann team then addresses the challenge – immediately.

Mixed reality provides connection to Ammann support staff anytime, anywhere. It helps novice and experienced operators, and it offers effective pre-maintenance inspection, too.

A key after-sales offering for machines will also be featured at the show. Ammann ServiceLink is a fleet management system that enables close monitoring for heavy and light equipment to keep owners informed of machine service needs.
