Construction work will begin in 2019, and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The project stretches over a total area of 109 square kilometres. 

The new development project will feature various resorts and tourism outlets. The scheme, will also include agricultural projects based on modern technology and the benefit of treated and desalinated water, and service investments such as labour cities, health and education services, an Olympic city, a club, a track for car rallies and studios for cinematography.

Emaar Properties plans to open a 750,000 square metre mall area called Dubai Square. The mall is co-funded by investment company Dubai Holding, and will be part of a six square kilometre development project in the area. It will take five years to build.

The mall will be built next to the new tower under construction at Dubai Creek Harbour that is set to be taller than Dubai’s Burj Khalifa. The mall will be 10 minutes from the Dubai International Airport, with a view to attracting transit visitors.

Saudi Arabia’s Atraba Integrated Holding is working on a 36,000 square metre real estate project in Makkah. The project will include 15 apartment towers, each measuring 15 storeys high. Total cost for the project will be around 1.5 billion Saudi riyals ($400 million) and will start after 2020.

This project will enhance the food security in the Sultanate and contribute to enhancing the economic, social, cultural, and environmental resources of Oman. It also aims at having a modern date palm tree sector in the sultanate to ensure optimum utilisation of the available resources.

The One Million Date Palm Trees Project aims to produce 96,000 tonnes of dates and about 56,000 tonnes of date palm products, such as fronds, trunks, trunk bases, offshoot and other.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the coming months with production expected to commence in 2020.

At full capacity, Sohar Aluminium will supply more than 24,000 tonnes of aluminium per year which will be used to produce high-end aluminium alloy wheels for automobiles. The wheels will be supplied directly to automobile manufacturers around the world.

With increasing international demand for alloy wheels, this project will further develop the manufacturing industry in the Sultanate of Oman.

Iraq has set minimum investment of $60 million for its Sinbad Island tourism project. The project, located off the Southern port of Basra.

As per Basra Investment Commission’s Chairman the estimated cost of the project is $60 million, and includes a shopping mall, hotels, chalets, a fun city, water sports facilities and a marina.

The project, owned 15 percent by Basra’s Tourism Authority, would be completed within four years, the commission has not received any investment offers yet.
