KUWAIT

Jurassic Production Facilities 4 & 5

The project involves the construction of two production facilities for Jurassic gas with a capacity of 160 million cubic feet and 50,000 barrels per day of light crude each. The state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has pre-qualified 17 international firms for the project on build-own-operate (BOO) basis. This project will lift Kuwait’s gas and light crude production to 820 million cubic feet and 280,000 bpd respectively.

Under the terms of the contracts for JPF 4 and JPF 5, the companies that are awarded the projects will have 22 months to execute the construction and will then operate and maintain the facilities for five years. Together, the two contracts will create an onshore surface production facility with the capacity to produce 50,000 barrels of oil a day and 150 million standard cubic feet of gas a day. The hydrocarbons will be produced from sour and wet reservoir fluids from the North Kuwait Jurassic Fields. The scope of the two projects will also include a water treatment unit, a sulphur recovery unit and associated facilities, such as a control room, substations and buildings. Recently, KOC shortlisted a total of 10 international firms and 4 local firms


 

SAUDI ARABIA

Al Faisaliah Redevelopment Project

The SR2bn ($533m) redevelopment project, designed by award-winning US-based architectural firm Gensler, is scheduled for completion in 2024. The project is expected to further strengthen the global recognition of Riyadh as the ultimate Middle East destination city linking true Saudi heritage with world-class hospitality, retail and entertainment.

The second phase of The District transformation incorporates futuristic architectural design with intelligent urban planning, to create the perfect integration of contemporary retail, commercial, entertainment, hospitality, well-being and residential living. The redevelopment includes a cinema complex with 9 movie screens, and fully landscaped outdoor green areas with water features and leisure amenities. Direct access to the Riyadh Metro, and a five-level underground parking facility for more than 1,000 cars, ensures the ultimate in convenience, safety and easy accessibility for Riyadh’s residents and visitors.

As part of the redevelopment, Hotel Al-Khozama - one of the first hotels to open in Riyadh more than 40 years ago - closed in August, and will be replaced with a new contemporary 5-star hotel.


 

OMAN

New Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah

The construction of the $336m project will be completed in four years. To be built over 94,400sqm, the main building consists of a ground floor and six floors. The project mainly includes 700 beds distributed in admission wards in various specialties for men and women, 25 labor rooms, two operation rooms and an integrated accident and emergency unit. Designed for the purpose of meeting future demands, the hospital contains a pharmacy, medical laboratories, a daycare unit, a room for minor operations, physiotherapy and chemotherapy units. The project includes offices for an administration, services building, medical warehouses, auxiliary electric generators and potable desalination devices.


 

SAUDI ARABIA

Construction of Grains Terminal

Under the deal, Bahri and Salic – also a subsidiary of PIF – have set up a joint venture entity, National Grain Company to build and handle the $110m (Dh403.7) terminal at Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Commercial Port.

A contractor will be appointed during the second half of this year and the terminal is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2021. Covering an area of 313,000 square metres, the terminal will have a storage capacity of 280,000 tonnes and will be initially be able to handle 3 million tonnes of grains and cereals a year, with capacity eventually increasing to 5 million tonnes. The planned project will be funded through a combination of the company’s cash flow and bank financing. It will oversee the trade, handling and storage of grain from the Black Sea, South America and the Red Sea region, and will help with the provision of basic food products and price stability in the kingdom.


 

SAUDI ARABIA

Construct Shopping Mall in Yanbu City

Yanbu City is located around 320km from Jeddah in Western region of Saudi Arabia. The project will be constructed on a total area of about 40,814 square meters in the Al-Fahd neighborhood of Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah

As per the agreement, LuLu Group along with Royal Commission will jointly establish and operate a commercial center under the LuLu brand. Apart from LuLu Hypermarket and other prominent brands, the presence of world’s biggest cinema operator AMC will also be included in this project.


 

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Ghanima Infrastructure Project in Al Ain

Abu Dhabi General Services Company, Musanada, has so far completed 50 percent of the construction works of an important infrastructure project in Al Ain. Located in Ghanima, east of Al Ain city, the AED 97.5m project is being delivered through a collaboration with Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA). The project is planned for completion and hand over to ADHA in the second quarter of 2021.

Supporting the UAE’s leadership vision of providing superior infrastructure in the UAE, the project complements the comprehensive and sustainable community development process witnessed in Al Ain city. It will include 279 residential, commercial and utility plots. The community will also have two mosques and involve construction of main and secondary internal roads together with the associated utility corridors.

Infrastructure development of Ghanima will also include the construction of sewage network, storm water drainage, potable water systems, internal road lighting and irrigation networks
