Metso Outotec And Ascendum Sign Distribution Contract For Portugal And Angola

Metso Outotec and Ascendum Máquinas have signed a distribution contract concerning Metso Outotec’s aggregate crushing and screening solutions. As of April 2021, Metso Outotec’s aggregate equipment, crusher wear parts and spare parts are available through Ascendum Máquinas in Portugal and Angola. In addition to equipment and parts, the contract includes service, commissioning, and technical support.

The contract with Ascendum is expected to strengthen Metso Outotec’s presence in the countries by improved service level through local support, parts, and equipment supply. Ascendum is well-known by the construction customers, and Metso Outotec foresees good opportunities to develop especially mobile and portable equipment business in the construction sector with Ascendum’s dedicated local resources.

“Our aim is to be the preferred choice for aggregate crushing and screening solutions,” says Olli-Pekka Oksanen, Senior Vice President, Global Distribution Management at Metso Outotec. “With Ascendum, we expect to be close to the customers and agile in serving their needs. Our premium brand coupled with their local presence and aftermarket expertise is a strong package.”

“Ascendum is proud to be the exclusive distributor for Metso Outotec, which is a worldwide recognized brand,” says José Luis Mendes, CEO of Ascendum Máquinas in Portugal. “We welcome Metso Outotec to our portfolio of leading brands and are very happy to be able to widen our offering to our existing clientele. Most of the Metso Outotec customers are common to Ascendum, and our wide coverage is a great benefit for them.”

The equipment covered by the contract are Metso Outotec’s Lokotrack and NordtrackTM track-mounted crushing and screening units, NW Series portable crushing and screening units, as well as stationary screens and crushers. Ascendum Máquinas has four branches in Portugal, and a dealer in Angola to be announced later.
